The Deep State is Trying to Assassinate Trump- Media Looks the Other Way
It took only a few days for the corporate media to bury nearly every story related to the second Trump assassination attempt. How? Smoke, mirrors, and more war propaganda.
Shortly after Ryan Routh was captured while waiting to shoot Trump at his golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida, information and rumors about the would-be assassin flooded social media.
One revelation that emerged was that Ryan Routh had many run-ins with police, and was convicted in 2002 with possession of a “weapon of mass destruction.” What’s more, is that the FBI was made aware of Routh in 2019 and investigated a complaint about him.
How was a man like this able to serve as a recruiter for the Ukrainian military, going so far as to run an enlistment drive for the International Legion, the country’s unit for foreign fighters? Routh himself told the New York Times that he traveled to Ukraine to aid in the country’s recruitment efforts in its war with Russia, and many photos and videos on social media have materialized to confirm this.
Outside of this question, the Grayzone’s Max Blumenthal pointed out that Routh’s self-published book is full of CIA talking points, and digs well beneath surface-level corporate media narratives in its prose.
Besides hoping Putin would be assassinated, Routh’s book recommends giving “Ukraine back all of the nuclear warhead [sic] that we took with the stipulation is [sic] that they all be used,” and praised the Free Syrian Army and Myanmar rebels, both of which are the CIA’s favorite factions in their respective regions. As Dave Smith noted, this was not someone radicalized by Joy Reid.
Soon after this information came to light, the corporate media flooded the internet with stories about Routh’s political preferences—matters of utter irrelevance designed to keep the left and right fighting each other—ignoring the substantive issues entirely.
If we had a real media full of honest journalists seeking the truth, they would have instead asked the following questions:
Did Routh tell anyone or involve others in his plan?
What were Routh’s probation terms, if any, following his convictions in 2002 and 2010?
Did Routh have any connection to, or contacts with, any federal agencies or intelligence services?
Was Routh on a government no-fly list at any time?
Did the FBI order social media platforms to take down Routh’s accounts?
Who funded Routh’s expensive overseas travels, given his meager financial situation?
How could Routh offer a $150,000 bounty on Trump, and $1200 per month for soldiers willing to fight for Ukraine, given the same?
Even if there are plausible answers to any of these questions, the public will be left in the dark. This is because instead of asking the real questions, the corporate media has successfully turned the whole narrative into a battle over what type of rhetoric is acceptable in a presidential race. That’s right— they include nothing related to the background of the shooter or his motives—but only what type of rhetoric should be used in the presidential campaigns!
Not only has the story been transformed into a meaningless and divisive battle over which political party is culpable for Routh and his deed, but Trump himself has been a willing participant by playing into the scam and burying the burning questions.
His response—and willingness to be duped by the deep state in general—is completely reminiscent of his promise to build the FBI a “new, spectacular building” even after it framed him for treason and laid the groundwork for his impeachment.
On top of it all, the CIA, corporate media, and many prominent Republicans —including Trump himself —have now shifted the national conversation to full-fledged saber rattling for war with Iran, assuring that Routh’s story will be swept under a rug.
Even though Ron DeSantis has insisted that Florida will conduct its own investigation into Routh rather than give the feds exclusive control, we may never learn the truth about his background. Just as the corporate media, deep state, and political establishment would have it.
As Murray Rothbard wrote, “It is not enough that our intelligence is systematically insulted with the lone nut theory; we also have to be bombarded with the inevitable liberal hobby horses: a plea for gun control, jeremiads about our “sick society” and our “climate of violence.” If he were alive today, one can be sure he would add “distractions about campaign rhetoric” and “tired war propaganda” to the list.
